FoodExpert-ID® is the first high density DNA chip for the multi-detection of animal species in food and animal feed.

This GeneChip® developed by bioMérieux combines expertise in genetics, DNA technology and bioinformatics, allowing the simultaneous multi-detection and identification of over 25 commercially relevant animal species and 3 vertebrate classes (mammals, fish and birds) within a single test.

SPECIES DETECTION WITH A UNIQUE SIGNATURE

  • The FoodExpert-ID® comprises 80000 oligonucleotide probes which are complementary to specific vertebrate cytochrome b gene sequences. These probes enable the identification of the animal species composition when one or more numerous species are present in the sample
  • The full automation of the experimental procedure and the integrated controls ensure accurate and reliable results within 2 working days
  • Sensitivity:
    • Lower limit of 0.01% w/w depending on sample composition
    • Identification protocol is validated from 5% w/w
